From the Kinks’ 1969 record Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) comes this fast, silly song about British Imperialism from the 19th into 20th century. Really great great concept album that received rave reviews from critics at the time but never reached higher than 105 on the Billboard charts. Arthur is the first album that features bassist John Dalton. This particular high-energy performance is from Providence, RI in September 1979, from just a few days after my brother was born.
